Grade 6 Mathematics Long-Term Substitute (Aug. 16- Nov. 15, 2024)

National Cathedral School (NCS) announces a search for a Lower School mathematics teacher as a leave replacement from August 15 until November 15. NCS math teachers help students embrace a love of mathematics while fostering critical-thinking and problem-solving skills within a nurturing environment.  The successful candidate will use developmentally appropriate and differentiated instructional techniques that support, inspire, and challenge all learners.  This position involves teaching four sections of 6th grade math and serving as a homeroom teacher to approximately 15 students.

The Lower School day is from 7:30 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. Other responsibilities include daily homeroom, regular grade-level team discussions and faculty meetings, rotating lunch, recess and dismissal duty, and other duties as assigned. Qualified candidates hold a bachelor's degree and have relevant teaching experience. Candidates must also seek collaborative professional experiences, interact well with parents, and have experience working with upper elementary students. Salaries are competitive and based on experience.
