Delegates, Faculty Sponsors, and Club Leaders,
My name is Layla Walke, and this year I will serve as the secretary general of the sixth annual
National Cathedral School Model United Nations Conference.
It is with great enthusiasm that I invite you to our conference on Saturday, February 20th, 2027,
at NCS. Our conference will be between 9:30 am to 3:30 pm, and check-in will begin at 8:45 am.
I am honored to announce that, this year, we will offer nine committee options. These
committees will be tailored towards students of various levels of Model UN experience; and each
committee will be chaired and moderated by NCS Upper School students. Every committee will
allow delegates to engage in and contribute to thought-provoking discussions; we are excited to
challenge each other and pursue a deeper understanding of international affairs!
Please complete the registration (link below) no later than February 6th, 2027, as we have a
limited number of spots available at our conference. We will be limiting delegation sizes to 30
students. Please specify how many students will attend from your school, as well as their names.
I will send an email to sponsors who have registered their students with an invitation to rank
their committee and country assignment preferences. Committee and delegation preferences will
be accommodated, to the best of our ability, on a first-come, first serve, basis. Specific day-of
logistical details will be sent out once registration closes at the beginning of February. We expect
that delegates will complete their own research on their delegation position using their own
resources; we strictly prohibit the use of generative AI while writing position papers. If a
delegate has questions about the research process, they are more than welcome to reach out to
me, their chair, or look to our resources center on the website for some quick tips and guidance!
I am so excited to welcome you all to our school and our conference in February. I am confident
that the day will be full of riveting debate, questions, growth, and lots of international conflict. If
you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to reach out to me at ncsmun@ncs.org . I look
forward to hearing from you!
Best,
Layla Walke '27
