Purple & Gold Fund

 More than 1,500 community members invest in the Fund each year, ensuring that boundless opportunities are within reach for all students. 

In fact, 6% of every student’s NCS experience is powered by supporters of the Purple & Gold Fund.

Consider all the distinctive elements of the NCS experience that are supported by the Purple & Gold Fund: Time-honored traditions like Spirit Day in the fall and the Grade 6 Chesapeake Bay trip in the spring; Academic resources, including chemicals in the science labs and building materials in our makerspace; Time in the Cathedral to sing, learn, reflect, and celebrate together as a school community; Rich musical and performing arts programs; Extracurricular activities, including our award-winning student literary publications, Model UN, We the People, and many more; and Continued investment in the Athletics Center and our athletics program, along with the coaches, equipment, and training to support our students’ skill development, teamwork, and health.

Donors to the Purple & Gold Fund can designate their gifts to one of six interest areas, including the area of greatest need, financial aid, faculty support, arts, athletics, and DEI initiatives. 

Donors can also set up recurring weekly or monthly giving to better fit their budgets. In 2025, recurring gift sizes ranged from $4 to $900 and resulted in over $50,000 in support!
