National Cathedral School is dedicated to protecting the privacy and security of our community and those who interact with our school. Please send any questions about this Privacy Statement or the privacy of your information to ncswebsite@ncs.org.
1. Personally Identifying Information
NCS does not collect personally identifying information about an online visitor unless that information is voluntarily provided to the school by submitting an online form—including one with a username and password—or sending an e-mail. Personally identifiable information transmitted through the NCS website is encrypted upon submission via the highest level of SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) available, and the servers storing this information are in a secure environment.
NCS uses third-party, PCI-compliant service providers to process credit card payments; under no circumstances are credit card numbers permanently stored on NCS servers. All service providers are required to comply with applicable data security and privacy standards, including any applicable state and federal regulations.
NCS maintains strict privacy policies, ensuring that the personal information of our users and members is not sold, rented, released, or traded to others without prior consent or a court order.
In the event of a data security incident, NCS will comply with all applicable breach notification requirements under federal and District of Columbia law and will take prompt steps to investigate and mitigate any risk.
If you are receiving text messages from us and wish to stop receiving them, simply respond with either “STOP” or “UNSUBSCRIBE” to the number from which you received the message. Once we receive your message, you will no longer receive further text messages from us.
2. Cookies/Log Files
NCS analyzes how our website is accessed and utilized. Much of the information we monitor relies on "cookies," small text files created by a server and stored by a browser. Cookies also allow a user's browser to store preferences from visit to visit to our site and to maintain a "logged-in" status when visiting password-protected areas. The use of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information.
An online visitor may set a browser to reject or selectively accept cookies and/or to delete cookies previously accepted; these options may limit the functionality of the website. NCS may also use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics or similar services) to better understand how visitors use our website; these tools collect information in an aggregated and anonymized form.
3. Links From Our Website
This website contains hyperlinks to web pages hosted on other servers. NCS provides these links as a service to visitors and takes no responsibility for the content or privacy practices of these pages. We encourage users to review the privacy policies of any external sites. Questions about any particular link(s) on our website may be addressed to ncswebsite@ncs.org.
4. Links to Our Website
Linking to the NCS website from an outside website does not require permission, but republishing information found on our website, including the NCS logo or other images, does require explicit permission. Email ncswebsite@ncs.org to begin this conversation.
Any such linking must not misrepresent the nature of NCS or imply endorsement without explicit consent.
5. Children's Online Privacy
Under federal rules,
special privacy protections apply to children under 13 years of age who visit a website. This Privacy Statement covers all visitors to the NCS website equally, regardless of age, and NCS does not request personal information from any minor. NCS complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
6. Data Retention and Security
NCS retains personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, consistent with applicable legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. We employ administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure.
Access to sensitive data is restricted to authorized personnel and service providers who require the information to perform their duties and who are contractually obligated to maintain confidentiality.
7. Terms of Use, Notices and Revisions
The use of this website, and any disputes arising from it, is subject to this Privacy Statement and our Electronic Communications and Technology Policy. NCS may revise this Privacy Statement at any time, and users of the website are encouraged to read it on a frequent basis. Material changes to this statement will be communicated through a notice on our website and, where appropriate, through direct communication.
This Privacy Statement is effective as of October 2025.
