Teaching & Learning Center

The Teaching & Learning Center (TLC) is spacious, welcoming, and quiet. It’s centrally located on the middle floor in Woodley North. Most importantly, it’s staffed by learning experts who stand ready to support every NCS student–and nearly every student makes use of the TLC at some point.

Whether it’s test-taking strategies, writing assignments, or time management challenges, our experienced TLC professionals can help. 

Our learning specialists help you find which approaches work best, taking into account a holistic view of you. Whether you drop in during open hours or have a standing appointment, they are ready to empower you with skills and perspective that will bolster you at NCS and throughout your life.  

The TLC is also the first stop for teachers looking for innovative ways to approach lesson development and to identify appropriate resources for their classes. The Center serves as a resource for parents/guardians who have questions about their students’ learning style or psychoeducational testing. 
 

Services for Students with Accommodations

NCS provides a limited number of school-based accommodations to our students who have been diagnosed with learning differences and health conditions. Special education services and specialized instruction are not offered. A prospective family considering NCS is invited to contact the Teaching and Learning Center co-directors to learn more about the accommodations and student supports we provide.

Once a student’s accommodations are approved, testing is required every five years for them to remain in place. If your student is currently attending NCS, financial aid may be available for the evaluation process. Please contact the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid with any questions regarding financial aid.
