Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in Lower School
Grades 4, 5, and 6 gathered for a chapel service to mark Hispanic Heritage Month. Students and faculty entered Grace Chapel holding flags that reflected their heritage. Selected students delivered homilies highlighting important traditions celebrated with their families. Students also participated in Wig Wednesday, part of the Spirit Week activities leading up to Spirit Day on Sept. 26.
The celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month continued at a Lower School Assembly. Thanks to our faculty and student leaders who discussed the idea of heritage and shared world facts about the number of Spanish-speaking countries (21) and the number of Spanish-speaking people (600 million). Spirited singing, complete with lots of flag waving, closed out the Assembly.
