Lower School Has First Discover DC Day

Grades 4 through 6 had sunshine and perfect fall weather for their excursions on the first Discover DC Day of the year. Fourth Grade toured several historic sites, learning about colonial and Native American life and experiences. Fifth Grade visited monuments on the National Mall, then went to the National Building Museum for a workshop about city planning led by NCS alumna Clare Smith '16. At Imagination Stage, Sixth Grade took a peek behind-the-scenes of a theater production, and in the afternoon, they visited Planet Word to learn about the history of languages, world languages, humor, poetry, and how music and advertising use words.
