Alumnae Journalists Address 8th Graders

Following informative introductions by Nora C. '30 and Eleanor P. '30, two accomplished alumnae journalists presented to the Class of 2030. Mary Bruce '01 and April Bennefield Williams ‘95 spoke to the students about their career paths leading them to senior positions at ABC News. Mary is the senior White House correspondent for ABC News. She described the fast pace of the network news world, explaining that creating a news program was “truly a team sport.” April, a senior producer with ABC News, talked about her role with news streaming, noting how she had “found her voice in writing.” The presentations ended with insightful questions posed by 8th Graders.
