All alumnae are invited and encouraged to attend Reunion Weekend, especially those in class years ending in 1s and 6s, who are celebrating milestone Reunions. In particular, we look forward to honoring the Class of 1976 as they mark their 50th Reunion, and the Class of 2001 on the occasion of their 25th.
Life is about celebrating milestones – birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, and yes, reunions. Whether you attended NCS for one year or all nine, you are a part of the fabric of this community, and the history of this institution. We invite you to return to the Close to reflect, reconnect, and reminisce on your years here and celebrate how far you and your classmates have come in the years since.
For the second year, we are excited to offer the 20 rooms at the Virginia Mae Center (formerly known as the College of Preachers) to Reunion-year alumnae. The 50th Reunion Class of 1976 has been given priority; however, if there are any remaining rooms, the Alumnae Office will release them. Other nearby hotel options include:
Glover Park Hotel $$$ (.9mi away) Omni Shoreham $$$ (1.4mi away) Days Inn by Wyndham on Connecticut Ave NW $$ (1.8mi away) Embassy Suites by Hilton on Wisconsin Ave. NW $$ (2.3mi away)
We are fortunate to have an excellent coffee shop on campus, Open City at the National Cathedral. They are open daily from 7:00 am - 5:00 pm and serve breakfast and lunch. Cathedral Commons is just north of campus along Wisconsin Avenue NW and is home to 2Amy’s (pizza), Cactus Cantina (Mexican), La Piquette (French), Jettie’s (sandwiches), Heritage India (Indian), Barcelona Wine Bar (tapas), Raku (Japanese), Silver (American), and a Starbucks.
Due to Flower Mart, we strongly encourage carpooling and/or using public transit or rideshare apps to get to the Close. Parking in the Cathedral garage will fill early on both Friday and Saturday mornings. The garage will close at 2:00 am on Friday and 11:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. In-and-out parking privileges are not available on either day.
On Friday, the garage will charge normal parking fees: $6 the first hour, $11 the second hour, $15 the third hour, $22 for 3+ hours, and a $7 flat rate after 4:00 pm. Validation stickers for your parking ticket will be available at the Hearst reception desk until 8:00 pm; please validate no more than 30 minutes before your departure from the garage; please remember to bring your parking entry ticket. If you choose to leave the garage after 8:00 pm, the gate will be up as you exit.
On Saturday, the garage will charge an “Event Parking” rate: $10 CASH ONLY to enter the garage. The gate will be up as you exit.
Nearby Parking: Paid garage parking is available below the Giant grocery store at Cathedral Commons, off Wisconsin Avenue. (Enter from Macomb or Newark streets.)
When you check-in, we will share which events alumnae from your Class are attending. Prior to the weekend, check out the Who’s Coming section of the Reunion website and encourage your classmates to attend!
Please add your requests to the registration page when you RSVP online, and/or reach out to Director of Alumnae Engagement Chloe Cogo at (202) 537-6359.
