The Eagles started the 2014 ISL AA Campaign with a 3-0 win over Bullis on Tuesday. Early on in the match, both teams were fighting to find a good rhythm. Opportunities were missed on both ends of the field but in the 18th minute the Eagles put away the first goal of the match. Emma Boyd '15 stepped up to take a free kick about 35 yards from goal. There was a scuffle inside the 18 to clear the ball and Isabella Small '15 tapped it in for the 1-0 lead. Much of the first half was back and forth and the 1-0 lead would take the Eagles into halftime.
The second half continued to be a battle for both NCS and Bullis. In the 58th minute, Marta Sniezek ’15 put away her first goal of the match on a great through ball from Niaa Jenkins-Johnston ’18. Sniezek ’15 also put away the third and final goal of the game on similar play from Jenkins-Johnston ’18 in the 66th minute.
The Eagles will continue ISL AA play on Tuesday 9/16 but will face ISL A opponent, Potomac on 9/11.
