Ms. Park Advocates for Libraries

Librarian Courtney Park was invited to participate in the American Library Association’s (ALA) National Library Legislative Day. As a delegate, she received training on effective advocating, the ALA priorities, intricacies of the Hill, and the crafting/telling of library stories. She and her fellow delegates spent a day on Capitol Hill advocating for libraries. Ms. Park, along with other delegates, represented Maryland and met with the staffs of Maryland Senators Alsobrooks and Van Hollen. She served as the lead for the meeting with Congressman Raskin's staff. While on the Hill, Courtney learned that Eliot Koch on Senator Alsobrooks’s team is a 2018 graduate of St. Albans!
