Raphaelle

What is your favorite class and why?
Geography. I loved learning about the world through politics, culture, population, settlement patterns, and physical geography.

Where is your favorite spot on the Close?
The Bishop’s Garden is beautiful and very relaxing place to hang out when the weather is nice.

What is your favorite NCS tradition?
Cross country pre-season camp. Every year the cross country team goes to Vermont for a week-long pre-season camp. It is my favorite tradition because it is a fun transition into the school year, and it is a great way to meet amazing people.

What are your favorite extracurriculars to participate in at NCS?
Besides my three varsity sports (cross country, swimming, track and field), I love to participate in the Thespian productions. We have a play in the Fall, a musical in the Winter, and a Festival of student directed one acts in the Spring. Whether on stage or back stage I always have a blast.

Why did you come to NCS?

I loved the unique atmosphere of the school. I also really liked how although we are an all-girls school we still have some co-ed programs such as the Chinese program, or the thespian productions.

Why did you decide to become a student ambassador?
Having moved around the world and attended many different schools, I have a sense of what information prospective students and their families are looking for. Also, since I joined NCS in 9th grade I know what it is like applying to NCS for Upper School and being new to this school.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a new student at NCS?
Don't be afraid to go meet with your teachers. They are there to help you and they are very approachable.
