Honoring Martin Luther King, Jr. with a Day of Service
Students and families from around the Close gathered on Monday, Jan. 19, the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, at NCS to honor the legacy of Dr. King. The day began in Hearst Hall with an address from Mark Andersen, Co-Director of We Are Family, an organization dedicated to supporting seniors in the DC community. Then attendees engaged in on- and off-campus service activities with organizations including Washington Parks & People and A Wider Circle, where students prepared hygiene kits, cleaned showroom furniture, organized toy donations, and stocked food pantry shelves.
