Upper Schoolers Lead NCS Middle School Model UN

Students from 11 area public and private schools, including two NCS Grade 8 students, participated in the NCS Middle School Model UN in February. The conference was run by NCS Upper School students who developed the topics, outlined the plan for each of the committees, led discussions, and provided feedback on position papers written by the Middle School delegates. The student leaders included Secretary General Lilli B. '26 and Under Secretary General Layla W. '27. They were joined by six NCS Upper School students in the roles of Assistant General Secretaries and 14 Upper School students who served as Committee Chairs. Many of these event leaders had experience with Upper School Model UN, while others brought leadership experience in arts, athletics, and other civic groups. Dr. Noelle Trent ’99 delivered the keynote address.
